Tried Vanilla Fish for the first time in Canyon Crest and got AYCE! We got 50 pieces of sushi, three rolls, and three hand rolls in our first round! It's about $36 per person for AYCE which was worth it since each specialty roll is already $19. We got edamame and miso soup as well. The food came out within 20 min for us! We got so full after the first round that we didn't have to place any more for the second round, but they did check in with us to see if we wanted to order more. The ambience is very chill and our servers were attentive! Will definitely come back again!!

Second time dining here, and unfortunately this time we had to wait almost an hour for our party of 3. We got there around 6pm on a Wednesday, and it was crowded. The restaurant is fairly small, and appears only indoor dining is available. When we were finally seated, our drink orders were immediately taken. We were told they ran out of regular cups, and served our drinks in Rae Dunn mugs. To me, sodas don't belong in mugs and make them taste less carbonated, but oh well. However, service was good, food came out fairly quickly, and we got 10% off by paying cash. Take advantage of the $1.25 sushi, which I think is a much better deal than doing AYCE.

The salmon here is fatty and delicious. The fish to rice ratio is better than any other sushi places in the area. My only complaint is the service isn't always the best... especially if they are busy. Overall Vanilla Fish quality and taste is hard to beat. My go to spot for sushi in Riverside.
